Happy Father’s Day everyone!

But apparently the muses weren’t finished with me.  I’ve been so busy getting the father’s day kit finished that I never did get a card for King Charming.  But then this idea came to mind.  When the kids wake up I’ll get them each to write something about why their dad is the greatest.  Then King Charming will have a Father’s Day card that I could never have bought at the store. 

And while I was making this up I figured maybe I wasn’t the only one that hasn’t gotten around to getting a Father’s Day card.  So I’m offering it as a freebie quick page.

I do love challenges.  Sometimes when I’m wanting to scrap but have no idea what I want to do, a challenge will spur me on.  But sometimes I sit and stew about challenges.  Thus was the case this week with the challenge from the disboards.  Mainly it was the subject matter.  We were supposed to do something with our favorite Disney characters and include at least three things we like about the character.  Well, two of my favorites are Mushu and Stitch because that’s who my boys fancy themselves as.  Besides, I like how full of himself Mushu is (definitely fits my DS14) and how mischevious but cute Stitch is (fits DS12 quite well).  But I don’t have any pictures of Mushu.  And I couldn’t very well do Stitch without doing Mushu becuase DS14 would feel left out.  So I didn’t know what I was going to do.

Then it hit me…. I saw Leaonna’s fabulous prom kit and got struck with inspiration.  Starstruck we might call it.  All the fancy bling in that kit got me thinking of stars.  And then I remembered when Mickey Mouse got lucky enough to meet a real superstar — my mom!   And that’s how this LO was born.

Journaling says: Mickey Mouse represents everything I love about Disney — the magic, the quality and the drive and ambition with which a man with $40 created an entertainment empire.  But even the Mickster was impressed and starstruck on the day he finally got to meet a real superstar – my mom.

So I got ahold of BusyScrappin’s new prom kit (get it here) and made a quick page.  And then nothing must do but I knew just the pictures that had to go in it.  Ahhhh, this was truly a night to remember.  On our Disney cruise, formal night was my birthday.  And don’tcha know I had to play it to the hilt.  I was definitely the princess and the belle of the ball that night.  It was definitely a night I’ll always remember.
