Hey there!  Remember Donna … the talent behind that cute LO with “Somewhere Beyond the Sea” in the last post?  Well, she’s agreed to be on the creative team for Designs by Crazy Diamond.  Woo-oot!!!  You should go check out her blog, Marmadukez Creationz. 

Oh, and while I was reviewing Donna’s most excellent blog I came across the meaning behind her name and a link so I could find out the meaning behind my name.  Now, I’ve known for quite some time that Denise is the feminine form of Dennis and they both derive from Dionysus, the Greek god of wine.  I’ve always figured that kind of fits my personality — sometimes mellow but sometimes a bit over the top.  Let’s see what Blogthings says my name means [with my comments in brackets]:

• You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
• You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.
• People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality. [Uh, we'll just say that this one certainly fits and let it go at that]
• You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.  [Almost, you see that says almost.  I'm not a people person]

• At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. [While I vehemently disagree, I suspect King Charming would agree with this one]

Oh, boy, does this thing have me pegged or what!  Maybe I was named right after all.  I’ve never seen anything that fit me so well.  Well, now you know more about me than I probably should have revealed.  Hope you had fun!

Well this has been something of a busy day.  Actually, it started last night.  I was working on a new LO for a Digi Scrap Station challenge that ended yesterday.  About 2 hours into the layout (and, of course, just as i was about to hit save) I lost it.  Argggghhhhh!!!!  Serves me right for not saving though. 

This morning I woke up around 6:30 and decided to get on up even though I was still sleepy.  Hey, it’s the only time the house is quiet so I’ll get up early for that.    I got my coffee, started reading my email and checking website.  Then I remembered that I’d promised King Charming that I’d get my stuff entered in the checkbook.  He’s been teasing me about not having spent money in the last 2 weeks because there was no evidence of it in the checkbook.  Well, needless to say, I had been.

But I got that one done and went back to scrapping.  ScrapMatters had a pretty interesting challenge for Saturday.  They wanted us to scrap one picture that was “So Me”.  Well, those of you that know me just KNOW it had to have something to do with computers.  So here it is — I kinda like how it turned out.  It’s got a king of realistic yet impossible feel to it (kind of like me) and is a mix of traditional and out there (like me).  As always, click for credits:

 Then I had to work on registrations for this camp I run for Webelos Scouts.  Got all that done and King Charming decides it’s time to go shopping for mattresses for the boys.  So off we go (I’m not turning down a trip to Costco).  We went back and forth around the store for a while but couldn’t find a lot of other stuff we wanted.  So we got the mattresses and left with that plus just a bit more.  People must have been looking at us becuase we were kidding around and laughing and just generally having a good time.  Yeah, now that we can go out on “dates” like this again I remember why I married this very funny man.

And then when I get home I find that Donna’s made an adorable LO from my Somewhere Beyond the Sea kit.  I just love it, don’t you?

And Kathy… boy, I tell you… this girl is on fire!  I got an email from her saying it was raining where she is so she might as well scrap.  Look at the darling LO she made with the Summer Camp kit.  Y’all make sure you pop by her blog and leave her some love for this one. 

Okay… so now you know more about my day, probably, than you ever wanted to.  But now that I’ve kind of caught up my blog I’m off to do some more scrapping.  Maybe I’ll try to recreate the one I was working on last night.  Remember to save…. remember to save….. remember to save…..

No new layouts or anything today (although I’m working on a June calendar quick page for your monitor and should have it up tomorrow I hope), but I just had to stop by and bemoan a fact of life.  My eldest is in the Young Marines and he’s only 14.  Well, the other day the CO noticed a couple of little, tiny, insignificant hairs on his chin — and told him he needed to form a closer friendship with Mr. Gillette. 

Did you hear what I said?  My baby needs to shave!!!!!!

Sounds like some serious scrap-therapy is in order here.  Wonder what he’s gonna be thinking as I take pictures of him shaving.
